Flower Care Guide

Here are some simple steps to ensure your flowers stay fresh and vibrant:

  1. Prepare a clean container: Ensure your vase is sanitized and free of debris to prevent premature aging of the flowers and clogging of the stems, allowing for better water intake.

  2. Trim the stems: Cut about half an inch off the stems before placing them in water. This exposes fresh tissue, aiding in water absorption. Use clean and sharp scissors or pruners for a precise cut. Note - if you have a mixed bouquet containing daffodils, do NOT recut the daffodil stems. Our daffodils have been conditioned, and recutting the stems will cause a secretion of sap that is toxic to other flowers.

  3. Keep the container filled with water: Flowers can be quite thirsty, especially initially. Maintain a full vase of water and check the water level twice daily for the first few days to ensure they stay hydrated.

  4. Remove foliage below the water line: Stripping any foliage that will be submerged in water prevents rotting and keeps the water clear and fresh.

  5. Avoid direct sunlight and heat: Placing flowers in direct sunlight or near heat sources can shorten their vase life by accelerating their maturation process.

  6. Keep away from ripening fruit or vegetables: Ethylene released by ripening fruits and vegetables can cause flowers to wilt faster. Avoid placing flowers near bananas, apples, or other ethylene-producing produce.

  7. Change water regularly: Refresh the water every 2-3 days to maintain freshness.

  8. Enjoy: Take pleasure in the beauty and fragrance of your flowers, knowing they were lovingly grown for your enjoyment.
