About Us

It all began with an idea. Red Dog Flower Farm is the shared dream of Kelly and Allison, who connected over the desire to create a life that mirrored their love for flowers, community, and family.

To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow

Just a couple of girls who love flowers…

Kelly & Allison met through their children – they attended school together throughout the daycare and preschool years, and have played in (way too) many sports leagues together.  As the activities continued, so did their time together, and with it, the realization that they had similar values, a love for the outdoors, and the desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives and the environment.

Naturally, their families began spending time together outside of sports, and the more time they spent together, the more the dream of beginning a flower farm kept bubbling to the surface. One day it turned serious, they huddled over some beers, their vision, the logistics, and could no longer deny that the farm felt inevitable!

The farm is named after Kelly’s family dog, Red. Red is a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and is the energy and heart of the farm. Red is assisted on the farm by two precocious goats, Phoebe & Honey, two very vocal miniature donkeys, Mable & Pearl, seven muddling ducks, and one VERY patient husband, Jason.

Kelly & Jason purchased the 10-acre farm in 2013 and have worked to create a special place that has become and is still becoming a true family farm. Jason is the visionary and workhorse behind it all. He has spent many years and countless hours planting thousands of trees, native grasses, clover fields, wildflowers and even dug a pond to create a wildlife habitat. All his hard work has certainly paid off, as the farm is regularly graced with blue herons, great horned owls, whitetail deer, bald eagles, bluebirds, quail, and American Kestrels, to name a few! Their love for nature and the environment has driven them to grow premium-cut flowers without the use of toxic fertilizers and pesticides. They rely on their donkeys, goats, and ducks to provide much of the fertilizer needed on the farm!

Meet the Farmers

Creating a life that mirrors our love for flowers, community, and family.

  • Our farm is named in honor of our beloved family dog, Red. A spirited and affectionate Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, Red had a heart of gold and a charm that was impossible to resist. His soulful brown eyes and ever-wagging tail made him a friend to everyone he met.

Red was a social butterfly, always eager to greet new faces—both human and animal alike. His boundless enthusiasm and playful nature brought joy to all who knew him.

An adventurer at heart, Red thrived in the great outdoors. Whether chasing squirrels, splashing in the pond, or playfully pestering the goats, he embraced every moment with unbridled energy.

More than just a companion, Red was a source of laughter, comfort, and unconditional love. His presence filled our lives with happiness, and his spirit lives on in the farm that now bears his name.

  • Hello! I’m Kelly Robertson, and live on the farm with my husband, Jason, and our two children, Walker and Ellery.

I’ve spent the past 20 years working in the real estate/property management field, but always had a desire to leave my desk job for something that fueled my passion for nature and my love of animals.

When Allison and I decided to take the leap and start Red Dog Flower Farm, I knew this was my calling! The love of flowers and gardening has been passed down from mother to daughter for several generations in our family, and I love that the tradition will continue with my daughter.

  • Hi! I’m Allison Hanson and I live in New Palestine with my husband, Drew, and our two boys, William and Henry.

Nothing makes me happier than providing my neighbors and friends with homegrown bouquets and it is a dream come true to grow our farm and to provide our community with beautiful, local, organic flowers.

When I’m not thinking about flowers or digging around outside, I enjoy reading, taking walks, attending my kids’ events, and Taylor Swift.
